Cynthea Denise

< Back

Cynthea started doing asanas long before she heard the word yoga. She twisted and worked her body like a piece of taffy. She went upside down to shoulder-stand, plow pose and forward folding every night before she went to sleep. It all started in middle school, her movement into these shapes arose from a deeply felt internal prompting. She has studied with Angela Farmer, Judith Lasaster, Donna Farhi, Aadil Pakavilla, Patricia Sullivan, Mary Paffard and John Friend. However, she is most grateful for all the babies and children that she has cared for as a nurse. They, along with her son, are her greatest teachers.

Cynthea has surpassed 2,000 hours of teaching and has countless of hours of practice and study to her add to her list of credits. She worked as an R.N. in the Maternal/Infant/child area for 23 years. Other interests and fields of study includes Chinese Medicine and Acupressure. She is currently enrolled in the “Embodied Developmental Movement and Asana” program with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen of Body-Mind Centering and has completed the Embodied Anatomy & Asana.
