Lauraina Levwood is a Certified Massage Therapist, Birth & Postpartum Doula, and Infant Massage Educator. She studied massage at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, a 1000-hour certification program. Lauraina’s training as a doula includes DONA International, Cornerstone Doulas, Birthing From Within and The Farm with Ina May Gaskins. She also holds Bachelor’s Degrees in both Dance and Interdisciplinary Philosophy/Creative Writing.

Lauraina has been practicing bodywork since she was a child, when she would massage her father’s feet while he lounged in his easy chair. Her young life as a dancer also encouraged her to tap her inner curiosity for bodywork, using touch to heal herself and her dance partners. Massage has always been a natural and integral part of her life and a gift that she has shared with others.

Lauraina’s bodywork practice is holistic, drawing from both a technical, western approach as well as from energy work and eastern therapies. She has studied Swedish, Deep Tissue, Orthopedic, Myofascial, Integrative, Ayurvedic, Reiki, Reflexology, Zen Shiatsu, Aromatherapy, the Alexander Technique, and Body-Mind Centering. Lauraina also has a special love for mothers and babies, and specializes in Prenatal, Postpartum, and Infant massage.

It is Lauraina’s belief that physical touch and movement encourage health, and that stagnation often covers up or hinders the natural state of health that all of our bodies desire. In her practice she facilitates energy flow through gentle movement and breath in order to clear stagnation, encourage healthy alignment, and call upon each client’s unique resonance with healing.

Lauraina weaves her skills as a bodyworker into unique sessions catered to the needs of each individual client. The most important part of her bodywork practice is her intentional focus and deep listening during each session – massage to Lauraina is a technical art, a meditative practice, and a way to pray.
